What is the EU Data Act?
The EU Data Act (EU Regulation 2023/2854) is a new European law that came into effect on September 1, 2025. This law ensures that users of smart devices and digital services gain (more) control over the data they generate. This includes data from household appliances, cars, and (industrial) machinery. This also (potentially) includes the data generated by our connected solutions.

How do we deal with the Data Act?
Our products and services (where applicable) are designed to be fully compliant with the EU Data Act. Our existing processes support the following:
- Providing transparency about the data generated.
- Sharing data with the customer in a simple and user-friendly manner.
- Share customer data upon request (and with explicit consent) with third parties designated by the customer.
- Handling all incoming requests within a reasonable timeframe, aiming for completion within a few business days.
Because we highly value data privacy and security, we ensure that all requests are processed with the utmost care. To request this, please follow the procedure below.
How does retrieving (EU Data Act) data work?
By following the steps below we can provide you with targeted service.
- Send an email with your request to privacy-smartmobility@addsecure.com
- Please include ‘EU Data Act access request’ in the email header.
- And indicate in the email;
- your verifiable reference (e.g., your monitoring center ID code)
- whether this is a request for yourself or whether you wish your data to be shared with a third party
- the period for which you wish to receive the data
- to which (vehicles or objects) the request applies
- Upon receipt, we will verify your identity and that of the device(s) and provide you with the requested data
- You will receive the data within a few business days
